Nicole Etitiq is a young Inuk comedian, and a local celebrity of Iqaluit, Nunavut. Since getting on stage in 2014 she has done countless shows in the community and more recently; Nicole has been featured on and hosted the Arctic Comedy Festival for 2 years in a row. She has just toured with the Crack-up Comedy festival March 2022 in Ontario. She has MC’d for many events from youth empowerment gatherings to the National Inuit suicide prevention day on Parliament Hill. Always being crowd favourite it has been a dream for Nicole’s’ to share her stories with the world. While she rejects an overtly political approach, her raw and honest use of anecdotes from her personal life indirectly tackles topics of colonialism, racism, Nunavut’s housing crisis and mental health. Nicole believes that laughter is a powerful in breaking down barriers across cultural differences.
