Nigerian-born comedian Ola Dada, has been performing stand up for five years. But his start in comedy wasn’t intentional – his first performance was completely off the cuff when he got on stage at a comedy club to try to make his friends in the audience laugh. He has since made a name for himself in the Vancouver comedy scene, appearing at the Vancouver Just For Laughs festival in 2020. In 2019, he garnered success as a runner-up in the Canada-wide “SiriusXM Top Comic Competition” and appeared on CBC’s The New Wave of Stand Up. He is one the faster raising stars in the country with is recent appearance on the newest Season of Canada’s Got talent on City TV (2022) and his debut comedy album with 604 Records called DADA PLAN . Ola has opened for international comedian Godfrey. He also flexes his creativity by creating sketches that he posts on his social media platforms. Ola is known for his fun, light-hearted comedy and uses his life experience as material – being raised in Fort McMurray in a Nigerian home, living in Vancouver and the contrast in values and views on life, religion and relationships.
