CBC and HBO Max present: The Cast and Creators of Sort Of
This Peabody Award-winning original comedy created by Bilal Baig (Acha Bacha) and Fab Filippo (Save Me) stars Baig as Sabi Mehboob, a fluid millennial who straddles various identities from sexy bartender at a 2SLGBTQ+ bookstore/bar, to the youngest child in a large Pakistani family, to the de facto parent of a downtown Toronto hipster family. From gender to love to sexuality to family to career, Sabi feels like they’re in transition, and the series exposes the labels people once poured themselves into as no longer applicable - to anyone. Produced by Sphere Media and fresh off of wrapping their season 2 shoot, we discuss the complexity, heart and universal appeal of the Toronto-set series with its creators and stars.
