Martha Chaves is a Latin Canadian, award-winning stand-up comedian, actor, playwright, producer, and comedy writer celebrated for her fearless humor and unique voice. Named one of North America's Ten Most Influential Hispanic Canadians by TLN in 2023, she is also a two-time Canadian Comedy Award winner, earning Stand-up Comic of the Year in 2018 and another award in 2019 for CBC’s Because News. Her special The Root of All Evil from the Winnipeg Comedy Festival was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award in 2025.
Martha is a frequent performer at top festivals like Just for Laughs and the Winnipeg Comedy Festival. Her TV credits include her specials Something About Martha (CTV/Comedy Network) and Comics! (CBC).
